TAMBUA Sands Resort on Fiji’s famous Coral Coast wrapped up a vibrant and heartfelt celebration of “Housekeeping Week” with a series of spirited activities that paid tribute to one of the resort’s most vital departments.
The final day of celebrations featured a colourful staff march through the resort grounds, an entertaining bed-making competition showcasing speed and precision, a lively housekeeping performance with a traditional meke dance, and a traditional Fijian high tea to close the week on a cultural note.
The week-long celebration highlighted the dedication, teamwork, and behind the scenes excellence of the housekeeping team, a department often described as the unsung heroes of the hospitality industry.
Resort manager Angela Bob acknowledged the important role of the housekeeping team to guest experience.
“Housekeeping is the backbone of our operations,” she said. “After a long day of travel, activities, or exploring, our guests return to clean, comfortable rooms and that comfort is made possible by our incredible team.
“They go out of their way daily to ensure every guest’s needs are met, often before being asked.”
Ms Bob said the week was not only about celebration but also recognition.
“Our housekeepers are a great team, hardworking, humble, and dedicated. This week was all about showing them how valued they truly are.”
Tambua Sands Resort is a boutique, adults only resort on the Coral Coast, located at about 18 kilometres before Sigatoka town is travelling from Suva.
Featuring 25 plunge pool villas, deluxe beachfront and garden view bure, the resort offers a tranquil getaway for travellers seeking serenity, cultural immersion, and one of the most breathtaking beach views on the island.
“Housekeeping Week” is celebrated worldwide annually between September 14 to September 20.
