AS digital technologies reshape how we communicate, learn, and work, literacy has become more essential than ever for personal empowerment and social inclusion, says Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro.
Speaking at the National Library Week celebrations at Suva Grammar School on Friday, he said the event marked the week’s final day.
“The theme of the 2025 International Literacy Day “Promoting Literacy in the Digital Era” emphasises the importance of equipping individuals with the critical skills needed to navigate an increasingly digitised world,” Mr Radrodro said.
“These themes are consistent with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 4 (Quality Education and Lifelong Learning) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), as well as the Ministry of Education 2023 Denarau Declaration and Strategic Development Plan.”
