Five-year-old Jerusha Angel Sharma stole the spotlight at the Rampur Primary School Library and Literature Week celebrations when she took part in the character parade wearing a costume made entirely out of newspaper.

Jerusha, a kindergarten student from Room 2, Stream 5, wowed teachers, classmates, and parents with her unique and sustainable outfit, which perfectly reflected this year’s theme, “Libraries for Sustainable Communities: Growing Knowledge, Nurturing Community, Sustaining Our Future.”

What made Jerusha’s appearance extra special was that her entire costume was made from just newspaper and cellotape, proving that creativity does not have to be expensive.

Her mother, Niranjini Ram, worked alongside her to put the outfit together, turning a simple idea into a show-stopping design.

Speaking after the event, Jerusha’s family said she was very excited to wear the costume and proudly walk in the parade.

Teachers praised her effort and the way the outfit highlighted the importance of sustainability and recycling in our daily lives.

The Rampur Primary School community commended Jerusha and her mother for their innovative thinking, showing that imagination, teamwork, and family support can turn ordinary materials into something extraordinary.
