CREDIT provider Kontiki Finance has come on board to sponsor the 2025 Pineapple Cup Lawn Bowling Competition, with the handover of $5000 to the Suva Bowling Club.
Their support will help ensure the smooth running of a competition that will see more than 40 bowlers take part.
The cheque presentation took place at the bowling club’s premises at the corner of Grahame Street and Queen Elizabeth Drive in Suva.
Present at the event for Kontiki Finance was its marketing manager Joni Moce and for the club, veteran bowler and former Pineapple Cup women’s champion Litia Tikoisuva.
Moce remarked how the event would serve as an ideal opportunity for families to come down and witness the bowling action unfold on the lawn.
“It will be good to come down and watch with the whole family. The camaraderie is there, we have the seniors as well, it will be a good game to watch,” Moce remarked.
“I think it is always an honour to be a part of the Suva Bowling Club.”
Tikoisuva acknowledged Kontiki Finance’s support in their continued commitment towards the event and the sport over the years.
“They have been sponsoring the Pineapple Cup for the last seven years and they also sponsored the Banana Cup for the last four years,” Tikoisuva mentioned.
“And we’ve been very grateful to Kontiki Finance for partnering with the Suva Bowling Club and bowling as a whole.”
The Pineapple Cup competition gets underway tomorrow at the Suva Bowling Club.
The current men’s champion is Semesa Naiseruvati and the women’s champion is Sainiana Walker.
