The hearing date of a former director of Rock-Hard Rock Mines & Quarries Pte Ltd, accused of fraudulently withdrawing $500,000 from the said company, is expected to be fixed in December this year.
Wenjun Lin had his case called this morning before Magistrate Sufia Hamza at the Suva Magistrate’s Court, facing a count of conversion.
Mr Lin is alleged to have fraudulently taken $500,000 for his own benefit by withdrawing the money from a cheque account of the mining company.
He is also alleged to have deposited the money into the Rong Fei Development Company Pte Limited, a company belonging to him.
The incident is alleged to have occurred between December 12, 2019, and December 31, 2021.
Appearing for the state was Senior State Lawyer Pooja Mishra from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Mr Lin’s bail was extended and the case adjourned to December 3 for mention to fix a hearing date.
