Fiji falls just short of 100,000 visitor arrivals milestone in August

Fiji has recorded its highest-ever number of visitor arrivals for the month of August, with 99,737 visitors entering the country, according to provisional figures released by the Fiji Bureau of Statistics.

This marks a 5.2% increase compared to August 2024 (94,787 arrivals), and a 0.4% rise from July 2025 (99,311 arrivals).

Of the total arrivals in August 2025, 96,189 arrived by air and 3,548 arrived by sea, including 3,194 seamen and 354 yacht visitors

Tourism remains the dominant reason for travel, with 81.2% of visitors arriving for holidays, followed by 8.5% visiting friends or relatives, 1.8% for business, 8.5% for other reasons.

Fiji’s top source markets included Australia – 41,786 (41.9%), New Zealand – 26,431 (26.5%), USA – 11,898 (11.9%), Continental Europe – 3,926 (3.9%), China – 3,208 (3.2%), Canada – 1,865 (1.9%) and UK – 1,614 (1.6%)
