The Government of Fiji is schedule to inaugurate its first-ever resident embassy in the State of Israel today.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is leading the high-level delegation for the historic opening in Jerusalem.

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the ceremony would take place today.

However, no official photographs of the Fijian delegation’s arrival in Israel have been released at this stage.

The opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Fiji in Jerusalem is a strategic diplomatic step, aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation in areas including security, climate resilience, agriculture, innovation, trade, and people-to-people connections.

“This mission is about constructive engagement,” Prime Minister Rabuka had said ahead of the visit.

“An embassy is not a blanket endorsement of another country’s policies; it is a bridge that allows Fiji to work directly with partners, share our Pacific perspectives, and pursue practical cooperation that benefits our people.”
