Fire Rugby Club proved too strong as they hoisted the Lautoka Rugby Union 2025 Club Games grand final trophy after defeating Tropik 22-13 at Churchill Park Ground Three on Friday.

From the opening whistle, Fire came out firing with a structured game plan, showing ruthless defence and dominating possession. Their control of the ball and pressure on Tropik allowed them to take a comfortable 12-3 lead into halftime.

Tropik tried to fight back in the second half, but Fire’s discipline and sharp execution ensured they maintained their advantage, eventually sealing the win with a nine-point margin.

Fire coach Kitione Nasau Kuruilase said the victory was a reward for the players’ sacrifice and commitment throughout a long season.

“Dedication, courage, and perseverance was the main message to the team in yesterday’s final.

“It’s been a long season for LRU. We’ve been through hard times, especially being on call for our duties while juggling work and training. It was not easy,” Kuruilase said.

He added that his message to the players was simple and that is to enjoy the game no matter the result.

“For the boys, it was about enjoying the game and i support the boys fully.”

The win capped off a memorable campaign for Fire, whose consistency and teamwork carried them all the way to lifting the prestigious title.
