From being a locally-owned bank, to observing market movements at a local, regional and international scale, to taking time out of their busy schedules, the HFC Bank team for the Frank Hilton Amazing Wheelbarrow Race was one of the 24 participants on show at the event on Saturday.

The team participated in the relay race, where a person would sit on the wheelbarrow and be carried along by a team member.

The HFC Bank team at the event consisted of Neimia Tuilawaki, Adelene Peter, Vilimaina Vasukicakau and Makereta Silimaca.

In the relay race, teams began from the end of Constitution Avenue near Victoria Parade and competed onto Gladstone Road before coming down Ratu Cakobau Road, onto Victoria Parade and to the finish line at Constitution Avenue.

Speaking on behalf of the team, communications and brand specialist Adelene Peter shared how enthusiastic they were to participate in the annual event, now in its ninth year.

“It actually feels great. We’re a small team, but we still feel so proud to be here,” Peter shared.

She also highlighted the Frank Hilton Organisation’s work in helping children living with disabilities.

In preparing themselves for the event, she described the process as “a bit of last-minute planning” and they managed to obtain a wheelbarrow for the race.

Their wheelbarrow was painted in the bank’s distinct shade of purple and individual letter signs spelling out the bank’s initials.

Besides a team member sitting on the wheelbarrow, a stuffed toy shark dressed in a black pair of pants and a black coat with streaks of neon yellow filled in the remaining space.

Meanwhile, the bank’s participation at the race also aligned with its commitment to supporting causes of a similar nature.

“We’re very big on sponsoring education, children and events such as this so we are happy to be here,” she mentioned.

Meanwhile, the HFC Bank team was among the various corporate houses that took part at the event.
