Midcourter Serina Daunakamakam is part of the final squad that will be representing New Zealand to the Netball World Youth Cup 2025.
The World Youth Cup will be held at Gibraltar, a British territory that is located off the south coast of Spain.
Daunakamakama, 21, plays for Southern Steel in the ANZ Premiership netball league.
She was part of the NZ Netball under-21 side that competed in the Rising Sta tournament in Fiji last year.
The former student of Lynfield College in Auckland joined the Steels in 2024 as a replacement player and quickly earned a full-time contract after an impressive outing for the club this season.
According to the club, “The talented young playmaker, who predominantly plays wing attack, showed plenty of promise in her first season of elite level netball after moving from her home of Auckland and the Comets NNL team to fill the void at the Steel.”
Daunakamakama played six matches for the Steels this season, playing a total of 312 minutes.
Now, the Fiji-born netballer is headed to the world cup in Gibraltar which is scheduled from September 19-28.
