Renowned coach Maxwell Thaggard, also known as Babs Khan, has made a return as head coach of the Suva football team.

Earlier this season, Khan had departed Suva to coach Navua, however the return of Saiyad Ali saw him leave the side.

Few changes in the coaching panel by Suva saw him reclaiming this former job, replacing Brian Singh.

Suva Football Club president Nitin Singh confirmed Khan’s return this week, stating that he will once again lead the team from the sidelines with the assistance of former Rewa, Suva, and national player Pita Rabo.

With an upcoming match against Labasa in round 16 of the Extra Premier League competition, Singh expressed optimism about the team’s performance under Khan’s guidance.

“The team have been preparing well, the players have been up to date with our training schedule, and we can’t wait for game day,” said Singh.

“It is also good to confirm that coach Babs Khan is back in the coaching panel for our team, and we are looking forward for a good match.

“We have no injuries in the team, players are fit and ready, we know Labasa is a champion team, we won’t be putting our hopes high but just doing our best.

Singh highlighted that Momin Khan has been appointed as technical advisor, adding further depth to the team’s technical setup.
