Fiji Airways has been named a World Class Airline for 2026 by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX), earning a place among the Top 10 Airlines in the World.

The award is the highest honour in the global airline industry, recognising only the most exceptional carriers worldwide for excellence in safety, sustainability, service, well-being, and overall passenger experience.

Fiji Airways is now the only airline in Oceania and the smallest by fleet size ever to receive the award.

“This recognition is a proud and historic moment for the airline and for Fiji,” said Andre Viljoen, Managing Director and CEO of Fiji Airways.

“In 2016, we were ranked outside the world’s Top 100 airlines. Today, through sheer grit, relentless innovation, and the unbreakable spirit of our people, we have risen to be named one of the Top 10 Airlines in the World.”

Mr Viljoen described the achievement as a testament to Fiji Airways’ ambition to compete at the highest levels despite being a small airline from a small island nation.

“We are the David in a world of Goliaths, and we are winning. Every guest we welcome, we fight for. Every route we grow, we defend.”

The APEX World Class Award follows a rigorous evaluation, including independent audits and verified passenger feedback from across the globe.

Fiji Airways was assessed across multiple categories, including cabin service, food and beverage, safety standards, and customer care.

“To excel, we cannot afford to be ordinary,” Mr Viljoen said.

“We need to be unmistakably remarkable, and to create an experience so extraordinary that travellers choose Fiji Airways not just for where we fly, but for how we make them feel.”

The milestone also shines a global spotlight on Fiji as a premier travel destination, further boosting the nation’s tourism profile.

“As we look ahead, Fiji Airways remains focused on constant innovation and raising the bar even higher. Today, we celebrate with our staff, loyal guests, stakeholders, and the people of Fiji. Vinaka vakalevu. The world is watching, and we are soaring.”
