The Extra Beach Soccer League kicked off on Saturday at the Fiji Sports Council Beach Soccer pitch in Laucala, and fans were treated to an action-packed opening round filled with goals, drama, and tight finishes.

In the first match of the day, Nasinu stamped their authority with a commanding 5–2 victory over Northland Tailevu.

From the outset, Nasinu pressed high and converted their chances clinically, setting the tone for their campaign with an impressive all-round display.

The second encounter saw one of the most entertaining battles, as Lami and Suva went head-to-head in a seven-goal thriller.

Both sides traded strikes in quick succession, thrilling the crowd with end-to-end football.

However, it was Lami who emerged triumphant, snatching a decisive late goal to edge Suva 4–3 and secure valuable opening points.

The final clash of the day delivered the biggest drama. Rewa and Navua produced a pulsating 3–3 draw in regulation time, with neither side willing to back down.

The contest was eventually decided from the penalty spot, where Rewa held their nerve to claim a 7–5 shootout win.

The result handed them a crucial early boost, while Navua were left to rue missed opportunities in front of goal.

The league continues next weekend, promising more fast-paced beach soccer action.
