Some Government officials were on the pilgrimage chartered flight to Israel in 2023.
Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Lenora Qereqeretabua confirmed this but was not aware of the payment agreement.
“Like I said, I don’t know what the agreement was, I have no idea, and I can’t comment on that,” she said.
“Yes, there were government officials on the flight, but I cannot comment on the payment.
“As assistant minister, I am not aware. I wasn’t on the flight and I don’t know anything about the agreement.”
She added that she was not aware of the agreement between the charterer and Fiji Airways.
“I think you need to talk to the people who were on the flight and also the charterer, because I can’t say anything about that, because I have no idea.”
