THE Republic of Fiji Navy’s Hydrographic team in the weekend did advance survey work at the Suva Harbour.

The team, according to Fiji Navy seized the opportunity to conduct temporary lull vessel berthing activities.

With several wharfs temporarily unused, the team was able to conduct detailed surveys without significantly disrupting port operations.

Fiji Navy said the team aimed to gather critical data and to ensure the accuracy of navigational charts, which are essential for the safe and efficient movement of maritime traffic.

The initiative, according to the Fiji Navy is part of an ongoing collaboration with Fiji Ports, reflecting the team’s commitment to enhancing the safety and functionality of the harbour.

By working during those quiet period, the team wanted to complete their assessments efficiently.
