The National Union of Public Workers (NUPW), representing hourly paid government workers, held its 25th Annual General Meeting on Saturday.
General Secretary Rajni Chand shared updates on ongoing negotiations to improve workers’ conditions.
“We are waiting for the Solicitor-General’s office to finalise the terms and conditions we submitted,” Ms Chand said.
She said key proposed improvements included increase in annual leave, sick leave, and the reinstatement of family care leave, among other changes.
“Despite completing negotiations last year, the union has awaited a response from the Solicitor-General’s office since then.”
Ms Chand said they expected a reply, but no firm timeline had been confirmed yet.
The NUPW says it remains committed to advocating for fairer workplace conditions for its members.
