The University of the South Pacific (USP) community bid farewell to Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Pal Ahluwalia yesterday.
He concludes his tenure this week.
In a message shared during a special farewell event organised by the USP family, Professor Ahluwalia expressed his deep gratitude and reflection on his journey.
“Feeling deeply humbled and emotional as I bid farewell to my tenure as Vice-Chancellor and President of The University of the South Pacific,” he said on social media.
“Today’s heartfelt farewell reminded me of the incredible journey we’ve shared.”
Professor Ahluwalia described the Pacific region as a “true classroom,” acknowledging the profound impact that the diverse cultures and communities of the region had on his personal and professional growth.
“I’ve learned so much from the wonderful people here, lessons in resilience, warmth, kindness and unity that I will carry with me forever.”
“Thank you all for your support, friendship, and the invaluable lessons. I will miss you dearly, but I am truly grateful for this unique chapter in my life.”
Signing off with a message of gratitude and hope, Professor Ahluwalia said, “Sota tale and Vinaka Vakalevu, #TeamUSP!”
