A major new tourism development is on the horizon for the Yasawa Islands, as the Kerzner Group of Dubai and BSP Life partner to deliver a world-class One&Only Resort on the shores of Malakati Village, Nacula.
Facilitated by the iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB), the project will see a significant investment in Fiji’s tourism sector.
Executives from Kerzner International, including Juan Aguilar and Akhil Tanega, met with landowners from Mataqali Yavusaratu and Mataqali Vunikavika.
“The tourism lease covers land from two landowning units, Mataqali Yavusaratu and Mataqali Vunikavika. Landowners expressed their eagerness for the development to begin, especially since the land had been previously leased without any progress,” said TLTB.
“The project is currently in the design phase, with feasibility studies set to begin in November. Groundwork, including geotechnical assessments, will start in the coming months, followed by the construction of developer quarters later this year or early next year.”
TLTB says the project will create long-term benefits for landowners and the local community.
