The Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Workplace Relations has confirmed that registrations for the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) and New Zealand Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) schemes will officially open on Friday.
Permanent Secretary Maritino Nemani said the nationwide registration drive will be conducted through the National Employment Centre (NEC) and urged unemployed Fijians aged between 21 and 45 to register.
“Currently employed individuals must not resign from their jobs to register, as selection is not guaranteed,” he said.
Registrations will focus on specific sectors, each with its own quotas and standards that includes aged care (300 qualified certificate holders), hospitality (300 unemployed individuals), drivers (valid licenses with at least three years’ experience and certified Halal meat workers.
“Once sector targets are met, no further registrations will be accepted.”
“The Ministry urges all interested applicants to register responsibly and avoid misinformation.”
