Rewa teams, known as the Red Kajikaji, have been benefiting greatly from the McDonald’s league program, which has provided a valuable pathway for the development of football skills and knowledge in the country.
Peter Cecil Singh, the development director for Red Kajikaji, expressed his enthusiasm for the program, noting that they have teams in all grades from under-10 to 14.
Their U12 team had a competitive match against Suva yesterday at Fiji FA grounds in Vatuwaqa, resulting in a nil-all draw, showcasing the effort and dedication of the young players.
Despite unfavorable weather conditions on game day, the teams showed up and gave their best on the field.
“So far, we can see there is a lot of development in the McDonalds program, which is a very good pathways for the young talents to show their skills and can be identified and scouted for their football career as moving forward,” said Singh.
“I think Fiji Football is doing good in introducing this program, we didn’t have this kind of program back in our days, so the kids now days are so lucky to get a chance to learn the sport early and to grow their knowledge and skill for the sport.”
Singh has witnessed a notable improvement in the level of competition, particularly within their teams.
“As a development director for the Rewa side which we call Red Kajikaji, we have seen the level of competition has really gone up, especially for our teams, they have really grown which is great to see.”
Singh extended his gratitude to the teams, parents, and supporters for their unwavering commitment to the development of football in Rewa.
