Suva remains unbeaten in the 2025 Skipper Cup after a hard-fought 27-18 victory over Malolo at Yawini Park, Mana Island, yesterday.
Malolo, fresh off an impressive 43-33 win over Ba in round two, struggled to find their rhythm against a well-organised Suva side.
The FMF-sponsored Suva team applied structured rugby, keeping Malolo under constant pressure.
The teams were level at 13-all at one stage, but Suva’s quick backline movement allowed them to pull away and secure the win.
It was a special day for the home crowd, who enjoyed watching high-level Skipper Cup rugby on their island.
Malolo Rugby president Ratu Jone Tuilawa acknowledged the support.
“We thank our fans and the vanua for standing by the team and cheering us on. Your support means a lot to us.”
In the U20 category Suva U20 also defeated Malolo 29-17.
Today’s third round of Skipper Cup action continues with Vatukoula hosting Nadi, Macuata facing Lautoka, Tailevu taking on Ba, and Naitasiri playing Nadroga.
