Spectators at tomorrow’s Vodafone Deans Championship and Weet-Bix Raluve semi-finals at HFC Stadium have been warned to watch their language and behaviour, or risk being removed from the venue.

Fiji Secondary School Rugby Union vice president Biu Colati said the message has already been relayed to schools through their team managers and will be strictly enforced on game day.

“This issue has been addressed in school contacts through team managers to be passed on to each school. We have reiterated it during our briefings. Spectators must work under a controlled community,” Colati said.

Security will be tight, with 40 Fiji Sports Council security personnel and 40 teachers forming part of the security team. A full rehearsal was held on Thursday afternoon to test the plan.

“We will also have strong support from the Fiji Police Force, with officers stationed on the field, at the gates, at Muanikau Police Post, and at the National Gymnasium,” Colati confirmed.

He warned that anyone found using foul language toward students or acting in a way that could provoke fights or hatred, will be immediately removed.

“Spectators acting rowdy will be put out. We have communication channels in place to notify the relevant authorities quickly,” he said.

With capacity crowds expected and high stakes on the field, the FSSRU is urging fans to show respect, enjoy the rugby, and ensure the focus remains on the players.
