Golf Fiji president Amitesh Chandra led by example over the weekend, taking out the professional category with a score of 73 in the Club Championship at Denarau Golf Club.
The annual event drew a strong field of 96 players, producing intense competition across all grades. In the A Grade division, Shakeel Pillay claimed top honours with an impressive 72, while Manjoor Bag secured the B Grade title on 83. The C Grade crown went to Rahul Kumar, who carded 98.
The women’s competition also delivered outstanding performances, with Raina Kumar winning the Ladies A Grade on 73. Carlene Kelly took the B Grade title, while Seini Loga claimed the C Grade with 104.
Chandra described the tournament as a “great success” and acknowledged the effort of all participants.
“It was a fantastic weekend of golf with great camaraderie and competition. I’m proud to see such enthusiasm for the game and grateful to everyone who made it possible,” Chandra said.
