Shilo Veikoso delivered a eulogy at his fathers funeral – SUPPLIED

At the funeral service of Ratu George Veikoso at the Vodafone Arena, his son, Shilo Veikoso, delivered a heartfelt eulogy that painted a picture of a father who was larger than life.

hilo described his father as deeply rooted in family values.

“What I would like to start off with is my father was an interesting man. He wore many hats. He was many things to many people,” he said.

“Specifically to me, he was sort of like Superman… one day he’s here, the next day, he’s across the world doing whatever he wants. But the one thing that he always told his kids was, no matter what, I am always there.”

Shilo said he initially thought his father’s words referred to material or physical presence, but later realised “it meant in spirit”

“No matter whatever I did in life, no matter how much any of the kids messed up, he would always make us solve it on our own and make us come back to him and self reflect.”

He described self-reflection and walking with the Lord as values his father held dear and instilled in his children.

“That’s something our family holds near and dear, to always see how our actions affect people around us and how they can be for the betterment of our family.”

Shilo also expressed gratitude to those who travelled from afar to be part of the farewell.

“I love you, and on behalf of all the children, we love you so much, father, Aloha.”

Ratu George Veikoso passed away on July 24, 2025.
