BE politically neutral and professional, showing unwavering commitment to ethics, morality, and service. This was the message from Republic of Fiji Military Forces commander Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai during yesterday’s RFMF Batch 1/25 passing-out parade at the Force Training Ground in Nasinu.
“You may easily get caught up in the heat of the moment and neglect our institutional values, but I must encourage you to hold yourselves and one another to the highest standards and uphold our democracy while firmly rejecting any approach that dehumanises individuals or infringes upon their rights,” Maj-Gen Kalouniwai said.
“It is this very commitment to ethical conduct that will define your legacy as soldiers, and distinguish the RFMF as a frce for good, both domestically and on the global stage.”
He said it was crucial that soldiers, at all times, remain impartial, objective and committed to upholding the rights and freedoms of all citizens.
“Your duty is to serve the people of Fiji, regardless of their ethnicity, religion or political affiliation, assuring every citizen of this country that the rule of law is applied fairly and equitably to all.”
A total of 141 recruits graduated yesterday.
