Lease payments for State land have continued to improve over the past five years, says Lands Minister Filimoni Vosarogo.
In Parliament on Monday, Mr Vosarogo provided an update on all State lease payments and arrears owed to the Government as of June 2025.
He said while payments have improved, much more could be done.
In 2020-2021, the ministry collected more than $14,650,000. In 2021-2022, $14,140,000 was received. In 2022-2023, it went up to $16,727,000 and above. For 2023-2024, $16,410,000 was collected.
“In 2024 to 2025, June, we have managed to collect $12,220,000 and a bit more,” Mr Vosarogo said.
He said the ministry managed a total of 21,226 State land leases.
