FICAC charges DPP Christopher Pryde over alleged unlawful payment

The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) has formally laid charges against the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Christopher Pryde.

In a statement, FICAC said the charges, filed on 7 July 2025, relate to allegations that Mr Pryde approved and received payments to which he was not entitled during his tenure as DPP.

The specific nature and amount of the payment have not yet been disclosed.

Mr Pryde is currently residing in New Zealand.

The matter will be called in the Suva Magistrates Court this morning.
