Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has announced the appointment of two new Ministers and one Assistant Minister in a Cabinet reshuffle.

The reshuffle sees Lynda Tabuya take over the Information portfolio, a role previously held by the Prime Minister himself.

In making the announcement, Mr Rabuka said, “She is well-suited to spearhead the government’s public relations machinery through the Ministry of Information.”

Ms Tabuya’s new role is expected to enhance government transparency and strengthen engagement with the public and media.

Tomasi Tunabuna, who served as Assistant Minister for Agriculture, has been promoted to Minister for Agriculture, succeeding Alitia Bainivalu.

Ms Bainivalu had been acting in the role since the passing of the late Vatimi Rayalu.

Supporting Mr Tunabuna will be Inosi Kuridrani, who takes up the role of Assistant Minister for Agriculture.

“These appointments reflect my confidence in the leadership and experience of the individuals selected. I am certain they will work hard to advance the government’s development agenda,” said the Prime Minister.

The appointments take effect following the swearing-in ceremony by His Excellency the President, scheduled for Tuesday, 5 August 2025.
