TWO-goal hero Mohammed Shazil Ali inspired Paradise Seafood Supplies Lautoka to victory against Sigatoka Electric Nadroga in their Extra Battle of the Giants match at Subrail Park in Labasa.
Ali had put Lautoka in front in the 40th minute of the match after some strong display of football from both sides.
Quickly into the second half, replacement player Salimone Ravonokula locked the scores at 1-all, pulling one back for the Stallions.
The goal fuelled Nadroga’s pursuit for a winner as they constantly went on the attack, starving Lautoka of any possession whenever possible.
Nadroga had some close calls, but they couldn’t hit the target, drawing jeers from their fans on the stands.
A lapse of concentration in the dying seconds of the match, caught the Nadroga defense being too casual in front of their goal and Ali pounced on the opportunity to steal the win.
Lautoka will battle Ba tomorrow at 3pm while Nadroga will take on Labasa at 5pm.
