Ba’s iconic 4R Electric Govind Park is set to come alive this Saturday as it hosts the much-anticipated opening round of the 2025 Skipper Cup rugby competition between Ba and Suva.

Ba Town Council special administrator Moshim Khan confirmed the venue is fully prepared for the big clash and anticipates a large turnout.

“Govind Park is ready, and we’re expecting around 5,000 to 7,000 people to witness this exciting opening round,” Khan said.

This will be the first Skipper Cup match played at the redeveloped stadium, and excitement is already building among rugby fans in the West.

The fixture between Ba and Suva is expected to draw strong support for both teams.

Khan also confirmed that ticket pricing and sales are being coordinated with the Ba Rugby Union. Tickets are affordably priced at $15 and $10 for adults, while children under 12 can enter for $5 or $3, depending on the seating area.

“Ba Rugby Union is overseeing the ticket pricing, and we will be working closely with them for the sales,” Khan added.

The Skipper Cup is Fiji’s premier provincial rugby competition, and this opening clash promises to set the tone for the rest of the season as teams fight to maintain their spot in the top flight.

With Ba’s return to the top-flight competition and Suva being a consistent contender, fans can expect a fiery encounter.
