Rupeni Tokabe appeared at the Lautoka Magistrates’ Court this afternoon, charged with causing his wife’s death.
The alleged incident took place on July 28 at their home in the Kaleli settlement, Lautoka, following a dispute between the couple.
Mr Tokabe later informed a relative that his wife was lying motionless inside their room.
Mr Tokabe remains in custody while the case has been transferred to the High Court in Lautoka, where it will be called on August 13.
