The Nadi Weather Office has issued a heavy rain alert for the entire Fiji Group, effective immediately.
The Fiji Meteorological Service warns that an active trough of low pressure is expected to approach and impact the country from late tomorrow and affect the country until Wednesday.
According to the weather office, the forecast includes occasional rain, heavy at times, with a few thunderstorms developing from the west and spreading across the Fiji Group starting tomorrow night.
The Nadi Weather Office has highlighted several potential impacts of the heavy rainfall, including localized flooding in susceptible communities, businesses, and low-lying areas, flooding of minor roads, Irish crossings, and bridges, which may disrupt traffic flow and reduced visibility for motorists and mariners.
