Former Permanent Secretary and Ambassador designate to Japan, Parmesh Chand has passed away.
His family has announced his passing.
Mr Chand passed away last evening at the CWM hospital.
“The family respectfully requests privacy during this difficult time, and no gatherings will be held at their residence.”
Funeral announcements will be announced later.
Mr Chand served as Permanent Secretary in the Prime Ministers Office and Ministry of Civil Service.
He also contested the 2022 general election under a Peoples Alliance Party ticket.
He is survived by his wife Renu Chand and three children.
