Vashist Muni College’s under-17 football team successfully defended their Southern Zone title and booked a place in the 2025 Fiji Secondary Schools Championship.

The Navua-based side remained unbeaten throughout the two-day playoffs at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori, defeating DAV College 3-1 and Rishikul Sanatan College 2-1, before playing to a draw with Nakasi High School.

Their consistent form ensured qualification for the national finals.

Coach Kasneel Prasad praised the team’s commitment and discipline.

“It was a great competition for the boys. Two wins and a draw in three matches, I’m really proud of them,” said Prasad.

In the under-15 category, Vunimono High School advanced to the national competition after winning a coin toss against Vashist Muni College, with both schools tied on points. DAV College also progressed from the U15 grade.

The 2025 Fiji Secondary Schools Championship will be held at the newly upgraded Govind Park in Ba from August 20–23.
