The Fiji Bureau of Statistics has released its latest report on Fiji’s Earnings from Tourism, revealing a slight decrease in international visitor spending for the March 2025 quarter.

Australians spent $220.5m in the March quarter while New Zealanders spent $78.1m.

The earnings, which reflect the spending of international visitors, totaled $439.3 million, marking a modest 0.3 percent decline compared to the March 2024 quarter, when earnings stood at $490.7 million.

The report also highlights a more significant drop of 32.3 percent, equivalent to $209.4 million, when compared to the December 2024 quarter.

This substantial quarterly decrease is attributed to seasonal fluctuations in visitor numbers and spending patterns.

The earnings are calculated based on the estimated average daily spend of visitors (per diem) and the total number of visitor days in Fiji.
