The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) is implementing significant internal reforms under the leadership of Acting Commissioner Lavi Rokoika.
In a message posted on the FICAC website, Ms. Rokoika announced changes aimed at strengthening discipline, improving efficiency, and ensuring responsible use of public resources in the fight against corruption.
“FICAC has implemented internal reforms to strengthen discipline, improve efficiency, and ensure value for money in fulfilling our anti-corruption mandate,” Ms. Rokoika said.
“These changes reflect our commitment to act with professionalism and to use public resources responsibly.”
The reforms are described as structural and necessary, focusing on clear priorities: enforcing discipline, operating efficiently, and delivering measurable results for Fijians.
Ms. Rokoika emphasised that combating corruption involves more than prosecution—it requires building systems to prevent abuse, promote ethical conduct, and restore public trust.
“These reforms position FICAC to lead by example,” she stated. “We remain focused, and every decision and every dollar must move us closer to a corruption-free society.”
Ms. Rokoika called for unity and accountability, urging FICAC to move forward with a renewed commitment to its mandate.
“Let’s move forward—focused, accountable, and united,” she concluded.
