The 2025-26 National Budget has been passed, a significant moment for the Coalition Government!
With 36 Members of Parliament voting in favour, it is a resounding endorsement of the budget in Parliament.
Now we talk about what should happen outside of the House.
That’s when the true measure of this budget will be felt, and that is in the hopes and expectations of the people.
For the masses, this isn’t just about figures and forecasts.
It is about delivery, about results and about promises made, and possible meaningful change!
There is a huge expectation out there.
People want to see what’s in it for them. They want to know how the budget will improve their lives and support their families. They want to see it fuel their hopes and aspirations.
That ultimately is the goal anyway.
People are definitely looking for tangible results and not just policy announcements.
They want better roads, better schools, better health care and opportunities for their children, and the ability to live their dreams. They yearn for the good things in life!
On paper, the budget promises much.
There are encouraging signs. However the question remains: Will it work out for the people?
As the Government rolls out these initiatives, execution will matter more than ambition.
It is about delivery! That will determine the verdict of the masses!
Its success or failure may determine how the Coalition Government is remembered.
Let’s face it, the Opposition may have dismissed the budget as a repackaging of old ideas, calling it “lazy”, “candy” or “microwaved”, but the debate is over.
They had enough time to go through it, form their opinions, and ask the tough questions.
It is now about implementation. And it is up to the Government now to prove that this budget is more than just a political exercise.
Because at the end of the day, politics aside, people care about results.
They care about what they can see and feel in their lives.
The Government has set the tone with strong intentions and an ambitious fiscal plan.
Now it must match that intention with action.
The people are watching.
And they are hoping.
This is a budget built on promises and they are waiting to see if those promises will be kept.
As we said above, they will want to see how it benefits them.
They will want to see what they get out of it!
They want many things and will look to the powers that be to facilitate that through this budget, and make things happen for them and their loved ones!
