Ba Golf Club Captain Ashish Chand led by example to win the overall gross title in the amateur division at the Ba Open Golf Tournament over the weekend at the FSC Ba Golf club.
The two-day event, supported by R.C. Manubhai, brought together golfers from across the country including professionals, women, juniors, and beginners in a successful showcase of talent and sportsmanship.
Chand returned a score of 146 over 36 holes, finishing ahead of Shakeel Pillay (150). Sanjay Sharma took out the overall nett title with 130, while Joeli Dakunimata followed closely with 132.
In the professional division, Tomasi Tuivuna claimed victory with 137. He was trailed by Amitesh Chandra and Zoheer Ahmed, who tied for second on 140.
Arti Sharma was the top performer in the women’s category with a gross score of 182.
Ba Golf Club Captain Ashish Chand said the tournament was one of the biggest in recent years and praised the efforts of the players and organizers.
“It was great to see so many participants, especially the juniors and beginners,” he said. “The course was in good condition and the level of competition was very high.”
In the junior division, Nivaan Chand topped the leaderboard with 207, while Mohammed Fawaz won the beginners’ category with 65. Anaya Saanvi came second on 67 and Riyaan Chaudary third with 68.
