Minister Singh condemns daylight vandalism at Suva temple

Minister for Multi-Ethnic Affairs, Charan Jeath Singh has expressed deep concern over the  vandalism at the Samabula Shiv Mandir this afternoon.

In a statement, he described the act as both criminal and a direct attack on Fiji’s values of respect, peace, and religious harmony.

“Our places of worship—of all faiths—must be protected and honoured,” he said.

He added the Coalition Government strongly condemned the incident, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding the religious and cultural rights of all Fijians.

“We will not tolerate any form of religious intolerance or hatred.”

The Minister urged authorities to conduct a thorough investigation to bring those responsible to justice.

He also extended support to the temple’s devotees and the wider community, calling for unity and mutual respect across ethnic and religious lines.

“Fiji belongs to all of us, and together, we must preserve its spirit of unity and diversity.”
