Anaisi Tavuinaulu hopes to use the FMF Bula Festival as a platform to advocate on the impact of climate change on human health.

The 19-year-old is a second-year student at the University of Fiji’s Saweni campus in Lautoka where she is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science.

At this year’s Bula Festival, Ms Tavuinaulu is sponsored by the Nadi Town Council.

“I was inspired by my mother to join the Bula Festival as a contestant,” she said.

“I’ll be advocating on the impacts of climate change on human health.”

Ms Tavuinaulu commended the council for their support.

“I would like to encourage youths to conserve our environment because it sustains our needs.

“The environment also plays a very special role in our lives as it is a source of income for many.

“We have to protect the environment for future generations.”

Ms Tavuinaulu is one of nine contestants vying for the Miss FMF Bula Festival 2025 crown.

The festival will take place from July 19 to 26.
