Originally from Nalawa in Ra, Arieta Naqai (pictured) has come across cases pertaining to NCDs while working as a nurse aide at PSH Hospitals in Nadi.
The 22-year-old is one of the nine contestants vying for the 2025 FMF Miss Bula Festival crown.
Ms Naqai is proudly sponsored by PSH Hospitals.
“I will be advocating on the impact and challenges of non-communicable diseases in Fiji,” she said.
“There is a need for people to adopt a healthy lifestyle and engage in physical activity and healthy eating.”
Ms Naqai said the clean-up exercise this week during her time as a Bula contestant has allowed her to relay her message to youths in keeping the environment clean.
The FMF Nadi Bula festival is scheduled from July 19 to 26 at Koroivolu Park in Nadi town, with an entertainment stage located at the adjacent Prince Charles Park.
