* Sam Altman, 29: President, Y Combinator
Since the legendary computer programmer and entrepreneur Paul Graham cofounded Y in 2005, the accelerator has funded and coached more than 730 start-ups. Mr Altman officially took over the accelerator and has big plans to expand the number of companies in the program by a factor of 10 in the next decade.
* Alex Banayan, 22: Venture associate, Alsop Louie Partners
Called the youngest VC ever, Mr Bayanan was hired by Alsop Louie at age 19 in 2012. He evaluates dozens of pitches weekly and travels the US judging hackathons and hosting events.
* Brett Berson, 27: Vice-president, First Round Capital
Mr Berson started at First Round Capital as a college intern. Now 27, he leads a team of 10 that focuses on the venture firm’s community outreach for more than 200 start-ups.
* CeCe Cheng, 28: Director, Dorm Room Fund
Ms Cheng runs Dorm Room Fund, a peer-to-peer student investing fund that operates in New York, San Francisco, Boston and Philadelphia in the US with the backing of major venture firm First Round Capital.
