A video circulating on social media shows alleged police brutality, according to the person who took the video.
He claims in the video Police came to arrest some youths and managed to apprehend one of them.
The incident took place near McDonalds in Suva city.
The commentary on the video by the person states he heard a “snap” and adds Police may have used force and broke the arm of the youth.
“This is police brutality,” said the man in the video.
Opposition Member of Parliament, Ketan Lal said Police must urgently address this matter.
“A prompt, transparent, and independent investigation must be launched to determine whether excessive force was used, and whether any officers involved violated the Police Act or human rights principles enshrined in our Constitution,” he said.
