If Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica is aspiring to be a Prime Minister, then “good on you”, said Peoples Alliance Party member Lynda Tabuya.
In a social media post, Ms Tabuya said “is it such a bad thing that someone wants to be the PM?”
“Like any workplace, any employee aspiring to be the boss should be encouraged and part and parcel of advancing one’s career,” she stated.
“No one leads forever, and no one should settle for being stuck at the same level in your career forever.”
“This is no different for politicians with aspirations. In fact, I know the Hon Prime Minister would be the first to defend this aspiration, as he has told us PAP MPs that if any of us are not aspiring to be PM, we should not be sitting with him.”
Ms Tabuya adds “a good leader does not create followers.”
“A good leader creates leaders.’
On the Commission on Inquiry report, Ms Tabuya states the Prime Minister is “navigating cautiously” on the timing of releasing the report.
“The esteemed judge gave nothing more than his opinion on the subject which has nothing to do with the COI report.”
“We can argue, take sides, stay neutral, stay silent, that’s your right. But if Hon DPM Manoa Kamikamica is aspiring to be PM, good on you naita! Why not?”
