THE Delta Tigers of Ajay Trading Rewa FC found themselves at a crossroads yesterday after they were beaten 0-1 by Pacific Seafood Supplies Lautoka FC in the final Group A match of the 2025 BiC Fiji FACT yesterday.
Rewa head coach Rodicks Singh acknowledged the result they were handed by Lautoka.
“We expected a poor and slow start, which cost us this. Again, we had our fair chances to finish the game, we had opportunities to score but we couldn’t and our decision making (was) pretty poor in front of the goal,” Singh said.
“We started the tournament well but the second and third day is not the way we wanted: a very poor and average performance but again we have no excuse.”
“We will just take the blame upon ourselves and move forward from here.”
Prior to their group loss against Lautoka, they drew one-all with Blue Gas Navua FC on Saturday and won 1-0 over Dayals Sawmillers Ba FC on Friday.
Meanwhile, Saula Waqa’s goal for Lautoka in the 27th minute intensified the competition already present in the first half.
Waqa, speaking after the match, credited the team’s coaches for helping the players maintain their composure in the crucial match following his goal.
“That goes to the coaches and the staff, the way they moulded the boys, the way they talked to the boys after each and every game and they went back to the drawing board,” Waqa highlighted.
Now qualified for the semi-final round at the end of this week, he says a lot of work will be done to ensure they are prepared for the high stakes match.
