Isoa Nasilasila was crowned the 2025 Men’s Player of the Year.
On a night full accolades for Fijian Drua players who stood out this season, Nasilasila came out on top walking away with the coveted trophy.
Reflecting on his season, the 26-year-old Lock forward was extremely grateful to the team for their support.
“I wasn’t expecting this award, and I believe that plenty of the other boys deserved this award too,” said Nasilasila.
“But I am grateful and quite shocked about this and it’s a testament to all of our hard work and the hard work that all of the boys put into the team.
“I have to thank all of the boys. We’ve been through a lot this season and it hasn’t been our best, but we will come out better.
“I have to thank our coaches and management for all of the trust in us, and I want to thank everyone for their continuous support.”
Presenting the award to Nasilasila, outgoing Drua Head of Athletic Performance Nacanieli Cawanibuka described how far the 26-year-old has come.
“I first saw him working hard in a gym in Suva and he was struggling a bit,” said Cawanibuka.
“I asked him to come in and train with us and I saw how he was so light, and I was really concerned.
“Since then he’s worked really hard. He is a very special young man.”
