AS a child, Shayal Dutt’s dream was to become a nurse.
Although she received an offer to study nursing at the University of Fiji in Lautoka, she declined.
To stay close to her family, she pursued a different career choice, one that stemmed from her love for plants and animals and a desire to protect nature.
After years of sacrifice and hard work, she graduated last month from the University of the South Pacific with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science.
