Team Fiji is seeking to raise $3.5 million to send its athletes and officials to the Pacific Mini Games in Palau which starts in June.

Chef de Mission Josaia Tuinamata shared that national federations are expected to finalise names of participating athletes by this week.

Meanwhile, to raise funds to cover athletes levy of $3000 each Team Fiji has launched a lottery campaign, offering tickets for $2 each.

Each ticket book contains 15 leaves and Tuinamata confirmed 4500 books have been printed.

Team Fiji will also be relying on grants from government and sponsorships from stakeholders to cater for the demands.

“Some of the federations have managed to raised funds for their athletes but some have not. So, we are trying to raise funds to help get these athletes to Palau,” Tuinamata said.

Federations have been advised to pick up their books from FASANOC, which can then be distributed to athletes, their friends, or family members to sell.

The lottery will close on June 2nd, with the draw scheduled for June 13th.

Athletes and officials will travel on a chartered flight to Palau two days before the opening ceremony on June 29.

The nation will compete in 12 sports featured at the Games, including archery, athletics, baseball, 3×3 basketball, beach volleyball, triathlon, swimming, va’a, and weightlifting, indoor women’s volleyball, para-athletics and para-table tennis.

The Pacific Mini Games will take place in Koror, Palau from June 29- July 9, 2025.
