The Fiji Police Force has confirmed the death of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) and Chief of Staff (COS) Sakeo Raikaci.
He passed away yesterday in Suva.
He had 35 years of service to the Fiji Police Force.
Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu said the organisation is deeply saddened by the sudden loss.
He described ACP Raikaci as a formidable leader, whose commitment and unwavering loyalty and professionalism in the policing profession saw him rise up the ranks to becoming an Assistant Commissioner of Police.
The late ACP Raikaci had also acted in the post of Deputy Commissioner of Police and Acting Commissioner of Police a few times in the absence of the Acting Commissioner Juki Fong Chew providing sound leadership to the organization.
ACP Raikaci had joined the Fiji Police Force on the 21st of May 1990.
He had served at the Tavua Police Station, Major Fraud Unit, Nabua, Prosecution Unit, Nausori, CID HQ, Director Legal [PHQ], Training & Development Officer – Prosecution, Director Internal Affairs, Director Prosecution, Police Liaison Officer [PLO] Ministry of Defence and National Security, was appointed the Assistant Commissioner Chief Investigation, Intelligence & Prosecution, Acted Deputy Commissioner of Police in 2023 and at the time of his demise was the Chief of Staff.
