THE 2025 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) will be held at the newly revamped Govind Park in Ba.
Fiji Football Association Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Yusuf confirmed the much-anticipated return of the IDC to Ba after a decade.
The iconic venue expected to undergo a name change soon will once again host one of the country’s biggest football events in the country.
With night games planned during the tournament, a key condition from Fiji FA is the installation of portable flood lights.
“Ba is to host IDC but we have also set some conditions with the Council, and that is to have some kind of flood lights around the venue,” Yusuf said.
Ba Town Council Special Administrator Moshim Khan has assured fans that they are up to the task.
He confirmed that similar lighting arrangements will be implemented as used during the TISI Sangam tournament held over Easter.
The move marks a proud moment for Ba fans, many of whom have been waiting years to witness top-tier football return to their home ground.
The hosting rights come at a time when the town’s beloved Govind Park has undergone major renovations, making it fit once again to stage national-level competitions.
Defending champions Labasa will look to retain their title, but with Ba’s passionate crowd behind them, the 2025 IDC is shaping up to be one of the most electrifying tournaments in recent memory.
The tournament will be held on October 7-12.
